Two Crazy Months

This was us two months ago.

Two months later (today) we were back at the airport, except this photo would have been impossible to take.  For one, there were just so. many. people.  We actually used a different entrance.

And this time, we weren't smiling at welcoming long-awaited visitors -- we were saying goodbye to strangers-turned-dear-friends.

Oh, and it's about 25 degrees warmer today too.

The last two months have been a bit of a blur to me.  I've been terrible at documenting the ride but we have made some wonderful memories and I want to recount some of them here.

By far this has been our most intense season of hosting, but it's been really good.  Since May 9 we had only a 36 hour 'break' between guests. The village is going to feel a bit quieter.  Our house will feel a whole LOT quieter and I'm wondering how the four Waggoners are going to readjust to life as usual again!

Is it easy?  Not always.  Especially when Ellie comes into our room at night, a puddle of tears unable to sleep at the thought of the 'goodbyes' that are coming in the next hours.  Is it worth it?  I'm happy to say a resounding 'yes.' We have come to see hosting as a big part of our ministry. Today we received a card that read "...the lessons we have learned here will continue to impact us well into our futures.  We shall always remember the seven weeks we spent with your family.  You have burdened us with a passion to share the story of this country and these people, and we pray that we may have the strength to share that burden with others."

Stay tuned for the stories...
